Fishermen in Kamchatka and Primorsky Krai Were Told About Benefits of Auction Trading

On September 24-25 representatives of Far East Auction Fish House JSC and Saint-Petersburg Exchange JSC held a series of meetings with fishery managers of the Kamchatka Region and regional authorities. The main goal of the trip was presentation of possibilities of electronic auction and exchange trade with fish products. Director of the Department for Regional Development of FAFH JSC, Anna Lelyukhina, told Fishnews that by the present moment the Auction House already has successful experience of conduct of similar bidding at its trading floor. This entails fully completed transactions – all participants of auctions held in spring and summer of this year received their products and payment for the products to the full extent and in time. Today exchange representatives perform work on attraction of new participants by means of explaining advantages and additional possibilities of this trading floor. Yet, like everything new, an idea of auction and stock trading with WBR provokes a lot of fishermen’s questions and doubts. “This is a natural and normal reaction of market participants. All the more, several years ago the business had to asset its rights for free trade against the background of an idea of “exchange obligation” of fishermen, which was actively promoted by the government, noted the representative of Far East Auction Fish House. – Today the business itself has in fact become an initiator of creating such trading floor that will provide for additional possibilities to expand partnership relations and sales market in Russia. Moreover, this tool helps fishermen to find finances necessary to prepare for another fishing season, to renew production and for other purposes without applying to services of credit organizations – it can be a decisive stimulus to enter the trading floor for many people.” Information about possibilities of trade with fish products at the trading floor of Saint Petersburg Exchange was presented at the meeting of Kamchatka Fishery Council, with the participation of heads of all big and leading enterprises of the region. Yet, fishermen could know about a system of auction and stock trading in a more detail at a seminar held the day before KFC. Several companies showed special interest to the project being proposed. “We will try to tell fishery managers about principles and terms of work of the fish auction at the trading floor of Saint Petersburg Exchange in a maximally full and objective way. Today an idea of fish product sale at e-auctions is becoming more and more popular – and this is right, market participants shall have a choice. It is also important to explain to business features of work of this or that trading floor, since there is a difference. In our case, among other things, we drew attention of fishery managers to the fact that in accordance with the rules of our trading floor no money is charged from a client, i.e. seller. You are just to submit a standard set of documents,” said Anna Lelyukhina. On September 22 FAFH specialists made an analogous presentation of the fish auction at the meeting of Primorsky Krai Fishery Council. Let us remind you that within the frames of Eastern Economic Forum Far East Auction Fish House signed a series of agreements, including with Primorsky Krai Administration and Corporation of Kamchatka Region Development. |
